About the Thesis template
Thesis is a one-column resume laid out like a word processor’s resume document, in one light geometric sans with no photo. The head opens on a small line of the phone, the city and the email spaced apart over a thin rule, then the name in large light type with the job title beneath in widely spaced capitals, and a second rule closes it. Down the page a margin a quarter of the width holds every heading, a section the writer adds included, as a bold label that wraps inside the margin. Each section’s body sits in the wide column beside it and closes on a thin rule the width of that column, so the rules step in from the margin. A role or a degree puts its dates in a narrow plain column, with the employer or school in bold over the role or award in bold, then its story, so a dissertation and an advisor read under the PhD they belong to. An added section of awards reads the same way, each date in that column beside its award. Every page closes on the name and the word Resume in small capitals. It suits a graduate, a researcher or an engineer leaving academia who wants a calm, formal page.
